Can computers be cognitive?

We live in an era of cognitive services Cognitive Computing (CC) is pretty popular today, we see a bunch of advances in this area from dialogs with chatbots to reasoning, this cognitive behavior of the computers is becoming more common every day. And to mimic this functioning, the process involves lots of Artificial Intelligence.

When we mention Artificial Intelligence we can be overwhelmed just about the mention of it, everything related to data science machine learning statistics mathematics complex algorithms, and all those topics that are part of AI can be really complicated.

Fortunately, there is a bunch of research and advances in this area that make it more accessible to us and even give us the possibility to create cognitive apps making use of those great tools and we don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Of course, in order to use this tools, you must have some programming knowledge and must be capable of developing applications, also have some experience using APIs related with the process and use the correct service API if you are planning to make some face recognition, or maybe the transition from text to speech and vice-versa, there are many different options to develop your software with cognitive services, and is really fun, so give it a try!

Certainly, we must be aware of what is involved in this great advances and learn about the topics and the processes that bring this tools to live, so I encourage you to take a look to some of the great resources available related to data structures, algorithms, data science, statistics, math, etc, here you can find some recommendations on this site for that.

The continuous development and the fast advance of the technology are impressive, is a good idea to know about them and even more, be able to use that technology and if is possible be part of those advances, is a great experience and learning.
